This past week, on May 7th was my 40th birthday. My dog Arwen gave me 7 puppies. As most of you know I raise dogs Boxers and Rottweilers. Boxers are my favourite breed. I have been breeding dog for the last 9 years now and I have seen a lot of puppies in that time.
Arwen had her first pup at 9 am and this is what she had. 2 white, 1st female with a fawn patch over her right eye the 2nd male with a brindle patch over his left eye, 3 flashy fawn males, 1 flashy brindle female and the last one, was a plain brindle female. To the left in the picture slide-show are the puppies and mother and father and grand mother. Arwen is 3 years and she is a flashy fawn her mother is Trina and she is also a flashy fawn and she is 8 years old. The father is Dante, he is 4 years old and he is a flashy golden brindle. The grandfather is Jaxom, he is a plain fawn and he is 8 years old.
The character of the Boxer is of the greatest importance and demands the most solicitous attention. He is renowned from olden times for his great love and faithfulness to his master and household. He is harmless in the family, but distrustful of strangers, bright and friendly of temperament at play, but brave and determined when aroused. His intelligence and willing tractability, his modesty and cleanliness make him a highly desirable family dog and cheerful companion. He is the soul of honesty and loyalty, and is never false or treacherous even in his old age.
Boxers are classified as working dogs, so they need to have so thing to do or lot of exercise. A bored boxer can be very destructive. They are very intelligent and their curiosity can get them into trouble. I have boxer that can open doors, and my brother told me a story about his boxer opening the refrigerator and eating a loaf of bread.
Boxers are a medium size dog, the avger size for a boxer is.
Males: weight 25-32 Kg (55-70lb) height 57-63 cm (22-25 in)
Females: weight 25-32 Kg (55-70lb) height 53-60 cm (21-23 in)
Boxers have many different colours.
Plain Fawns (Black Mask Fawns) – are tan in colour with black around their noise and up and round their eyes. They may have white on their chess and on their paws.
Flashy Fawns – are tan in colour with white around their noise and may have a white collar. They will also have a white chess and on their paws.
Plain Brindles (Black Mask Brindles) – are dark in colour with black around their noise and up and round their eyes. They may have white on their chess and on their paws.
Flashy Brindles – are dark in colour with white around their noise and may have a white collar. They will also have a white chess and on their paws.
Golden Brindles – they are lighter in colour
White Boxers – white boxer can be either a fawn or brindle, they can have patches over their body or completely white. It seems that some people think that white boxers have more health issues then any other colour, this is an untrue statement. How ever they can get sunburn just like a fair skin human can.
